Fanlisting?

"A fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are), they are just a place where you can sign up with other fans." ; TFL.org

Colors of the heart

Most of you probably recognise this song as the 3rd opening from the anime series Blood+. I confess I haven't watched the series yet so I can't give any details regarding the series itself. However, I am able to supply you sufficient info about this splendid song performed by my all-time favourite band - UVERworld. I am not obliged to give much info on UVERworld here so I suggest you visit the fansite I am working on with a couple of friends to find out more about this band. http://uverworld.org

COLORS OF THE HEART , the 4th singles of UVERworld is released on 17th of May. The limited edition consist of the original Blood+ DVD. Its Oricon top #200 weekly peak is #3, one of UVERworld's best till date (Kimi no suki na uta#2 in Oricon top #200). The song Colors of the Heart can also be found in the CD compilation - Blood+ complete best. Unlike many singles from other artists, UVERworld never belittle their B-sides, they put in a lot of effort into each and everyone of them. Hence, both of the B-sides of this single are good and I do strongly recommend to listen to both. To put it simply, this singles is definitely worth buying. So purchase the CD if you have the money!

The tracklisting of this singles is as follow:
  1. Colors of the Heart (Lyrics: TAKUYA∞ & Alice Ice; Music: TAKUYA∞)
  2. SORA (Lyrics: TAKUYA∞; Music: TAKUYA∞ & Akira)
  3. Hitori jya nai kara (Lyrics & Music: TAKUYA∞

COLORS OF THE HEART is definitely my favourite song from UVERworld till date. I never got tired listening to this song and within 3 weeks, it managed to surpass my all-time favourite song Houkiboshi by Younha.

1. The instrumental. I used a programme and removed the main vocal from the song and I was totally impressed with the music. It has a unique melody and the accompaniment totally blends with it. The background voice also suits TAKUYA∞'s (Vo & Programming) vocal perfectly. He never fails to amaze me on how he can write such beautiful music with a limited note range (from low A to middle A with limited low F and middle B)

2. The lyrics. It is a really inspirational song as it constantly reminds me that there is no problem that we can not solve and that we cannot always rely on other people. Fate lies in our hands and it is up to us to change it.

3. The feeling that this song gave me. To me, this song is somewhat mysterious. The first few times I heard it, I thought it was just some kind of normal pop rock song that gives a dark and heavy feeling. Upon hearing a few more times, it is not that simple. It totally depends on my mood. At certain times, this song actually sounded rather light and it makes you feel that you can do anything!

4. The effort put in by the members of UVERworld. It's actually rather obvious how much effort UVERworld spends on each of their music. This style is totally new compared to all their previous songs. I personally think this song alone is enough to surpass their album. The melody line is rich and filled with interesting chords.

5. 1+2+3+4 = I never get bored of this song. UVERworld always never fail to impress me with their constantly changing music styles. Hence, if I listen to one of their songs a little too much, I'll just have to listen to other songs. Believe it or not, I have listened to this song for 6 hours in a row before.

the video

The promotional video (PV) of this song is another must-watch! The feeling this video give can be comparable to D-technolife (2nd opening of Bleach; 1st single). This video is one of the only rare few that features mainly the band itself. It has a dark (& freaking cool) setting which is probably computerised. This is my favourite PV from UVERworld till date and I would highly recommend it to any UVERfan out there. All of them are really into the music and it is pretty cool seeing all of them rock their bodies to the rhythm. As for Nobuto fans, have fun looking for your favourite bassist (who blends perfectly with the drums and shadow) >3

NOTE: If the youtube link is broken, just search for the video in youtube yourself. Recently, many UVERworld videos have been deleted due to copyright issues.

the lives

Excluding their live tour, UVERworld has performed 2 lives for this song.
    •     Music Station (5.19.2006)
    •     Music Express (6.25.2006)
Sad to say, they are not really good compared to other TV live performances they have appeared in so far. Takuya goes out of tune pretty often and he seems really nervous from his weird face expressions. Nonetheless, it is pretty fun to watch these lives. If you are looking for good live performances by UVERworld, I suggest you look into the 2 live performances of SHAMROCK.
One highlight from the Music Station performance is before the start of the first chorus, where Takuya just cast his mike stand aside (thank god it didn't hit anyone).
